Speaking with journalists in Osogbo, Oyintiloye emphasized the urgent need to identify and ruthlessly deal with these financiers to curb the escalating insecurity plaguing the nation.
Call to Action: βTo effectively combat insecurity, we must target those bankrolling criminal activities and insurgencies. This requires stronger intelligence, anti-corruption measures, and international cooperation to disrupt their financial networks,β Oyintiloye stated.
Chieftain To End UnSecurity
Oyintiloye, a former lawmaker, highlighted that criminals rely on steady supplies of food, weapons, and drugs, often facilitated by hidden sponsors. He challenged security agencies to intensify efforts in tracking down these enablers, asserting that cutting off their resources would significantly weaken insurgents. He also called for the public prosecution of those found guilty, arguing that transparency in justice would deter others and rebuild public trust in the system.
Amid rising concerns over killings and abductions, Oyintiloye criticized those exploiting the insecurity for political gain, labeling them as enemies of the state. Despite the challenges, he expressed confidence in Nigeriaβs ability to overcome its security woes through strategic reforms and stronger political will under Tinubuβs Chieftain.
