Today, May 10, 2025, Northern governors and traditional rulers convened a critical meeting at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna to address the escalating insecurity plaguing the region. Chaired by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, the gathering includes prominent leaders like the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saβad Abubakar, and the host, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, alongside other key figures from across the 19 northern states.
Unified Action: Governor Yahaya emphasized the need for collective strategies, stating, βThe time to walk the talk is now,β as leaders aim to combat terrorism, banditry, and socioeconomic challenges like poverty and the high rate of out-of-school children.
