On May 1, 2025, Vice President Kashim Shettima announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is fully committed to unleashing Nigeria’s vast potential, aiming to position the country as a leading force on the African continent through bold economic reforms and strategic investments in human capital.
A Vision for Growth: Shettima emphasized that recent reforms, such as the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of the exchange rate, though challenging, are crucial steps toward economic stability and growth for Nigerians.
Speaking further, VP Shettima highlighted the government’s focus on human capital development, particularly through the Human Capital Development (HCD) 2.0 program. “Skills are very important, and with our HCD 2.0 program, we are in a position to unleash the full potential of the Nigerian people by enhancing their capital skills,” he stated.
The Vice President also noted the administration’s efforts to strengthen ties with global institutions, such as Berlin’s Hertie School, to bolster human capital initiatives. These steps, he believes, will lay a solid foundation for Nigeria’s future prosperity.
President Tinubu’s leadership is poised to drive transformative change, ensuring that Nigeria not only thrives but leads on the continental stage. For more insights on Nigeria’s economic journey, visit our blog.
