On May 10, 2025, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo issued a stern warning to contractors handling various road projects across the state, emphasizing that compromising standards for selfish or pecuniary gains will not be tolerated. Speaking at the conclusion of a stakeholder meeting in Lokoja, the governor underscored his administrationโs commitment to delivering quality infrastructure for the people of Kogi State.
Zero Tolerance for Substandard Work: Governor Ododo declared, โWe will not accept shoddy work. Our people deserve the best, and I will ensure every contractor delivers on their promises without cutting corners.โ
Ododo Expressed Satisfaction
This statement comes on the heels of recent inspections, such as the one on May 6, where Ododo expressed satisfaction with the 3.1km OziokutuโOgaminanaโObangede road project in Adavi LGA, commending the contractor for quality work. However, the governorโs latest remarks signal a broader push for accountability across all ongoing projects, including the 3.5km Abdulrahman Badams to Adavi Secretariat road. With Kogi State being transformed into a hub of construction activity, Ododoโs administration aims to ensure that infrastructure development aligns with the needs of the people and supports economic growth.
